The Integrated Systems Group of SAIC has a career opening for a Sr. RF Design Engineer located in Columbia, MD.

The Senior RF Design Engineer will provide board-level hardware and software design services to include designing RF components, developing design plans, drawings and schematics, researching parts and equipment. The successful candidate will be proficient in all aspects of the RF design process, including generating system requirements, system and subsystem partitioning, computer-based modeling, RF chain analysis, spurious mitigation analysis, Electromagnetic Interference analysis, detailed circuit design, substrate selection, layout, testing and debugging.

•Establish and maintain documentation of technical processes and procedures and create and maintain documentation of system, subsystem or equipment related to design, development, testing and verification.
•Evaluate engineering materials including detecting deviations and recommending solutions.
•Develop test procedures to ensure conformance with specifications, testing hardware at the system, subsystem and component level.
•Will analyze and troubleshoot hardware/software problems.
•Present and discuss engineering matters at meetings.
•Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) and 11+ years of related combined Radio Frequency, microwave and analog design experience.
•10+ years of direct experience designing miniaturized, low-power receivers ranging in frequency from High Frequency (H F) to C-Band.
•Ability to derive EMI requirements and incorporating sufficient filtering and shielding in the design to ensure performance.
•Demonstratated direct experience designing the following types or circuits: low-noise phase-locked-loop circuits and synthesizers, wideband AGC circuits, RF switching and control circuits, filters, low-noise high-efficiency power supplies, modulators, demodulators, RF power detection and RSSI, frequency conversion, adaptive threshold and low-distortion driver amplifiers.
•Familiar with state-of-the-art and commercially available technologies for microwave filters, oscillators, synthesizers, switches, and MMIC components, as well as the cost I performance tradeoffs associated with these types of circuits.
•Capable of performing RF link budget analysis and developing cost estimates for development and production efforts.
•Currently possess a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
