Foursquare is seeking experienced BlackBerry developers to help architect, build, iterate and manage our broad set of mobile application and website products. You will be part of a fast-paced team driving ongoing product iteration and working in the highly competitive space of consumer-facing location-based services. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fluid start-up environment and will bring an energetic, fun and creative approach to their work.
Responsibilities
Contribute best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative, consumer-facing mobile products
Continually offer thought-leadership and dependable execution ability in a high-paced environment characterized by ongoing iteration and product pushes
Play a key role in product development, help shape direction of foursquare feature set
Experience
3+ years of professional software development experience, java or c++ preferred
Minimum 1-2 years of BlackBerry or J2ME mobile software development experience
Solid understanding of the intricacies of the BlackBerry platform, including:
Data request model
Building custom UI and layout controls
Compatibility across a range of screen types and OS levels
Familiarity with the BlackBerry application lifecycle
Proficient in the following technologies:
Java language and related frameworks
Multi-Threading and memory management specific to mobile devices
Understanding of caching mechanisms
Education
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
