What does a Best Buy Sales Support Supervisor do?

A Sales Support Supervisor leads and coaches a team of sales support associates ensuring employees have the knowledge and skills to execute the company strategies. In addition to being people leaders, Sales Support Supervisors are detailed and process-oriented. They maximize these strengths to lead and execute in the following key areas within a store: standard operating procedures (SOP), inventory management, merchandising, asset protection, store functionality, and back office processes. They manage the front end of the store and frequently coach their team members on the sales floor, providing immediate feedback to reinforce their success and inspire them in areas where improvement is needed. They recognize behaviors where the employee puts the customer at the center of the shopping experience, addressing the customer needs and providing exceptional and unique customer value.

40% of your time you will:
Analyze individual and team performance of the sales support team.
Coach sales support employees, complete monthly one-to-one coaching sessions and quarterly performance appraisals with sales support team and across the store as necessary.

30% of your time you will:
Teach and coach the sales support team to execute business strategies and improve individual and team performance through a balanced leadership approach that considers customer, employee and shareholder contributions.
Ensure sales support team has the appropriate knowledge and expertise for continuous
learning and self-development.
Conduct regular training meetings per company plan.

30% of your time you will:
Create a profitable and engaging sales floor experience.
What are the Professional Requirements of a Best Buy Sales Support Supervisor?

Basic Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years experience in coaching, training and inspiring employees (peer-to-peer or through reporting relationship)

Preferred Requirements:
Associates or Bachelors degree
1+ years supervisory/management experience
1+ years experience in a retail or customer service-oriented setting
Experience in the following areas: merchandising/presentation, inventory control, warehouse, asset protection, front-end operations and back office operations
