Job Summary:
The Navigator is a specialized health care professional who assists patients to navigate the healthcare system when a specific medical diagnosis or recognized healthcare need exists. The Navigator will focus on four areas of service: clinical services, community outreach, education and research & quality management. The individual will act as a liaison for the patient and family in addressing their concerns and questions. Additional responsibilities include community education efforts such as health screenings and promotions and serving as an educator and liaison for the healthcare team.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Preferred Education:
Master of Science in Nursing
Required License:
Current licensure as Registered Nurse with North Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state as defined by NC Board of Nursing. BLS certification
Preferred License:
Certification in specialty area by recognized national nursing organization
Required Experience:
Minimum of 3 years nursing experience
Preferred Experience:
Background in women’s health, nurse navigator, or case management
