Texas Breast Specialists Bedford has an opening for an energetic, organized RN to support a busy breast surgeon. This individual must be a team player, detail oriented with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities include :
Co-ordination of patient care through all phases of treatment. Serves as a liaison between medical oncology, radiation oncology, referring physicians, support services and payers.
Does new patient assessment with review of clinical intake form establishing leadership role at first visit..
Assists with preparation of equipment, and aids physician during ultrasounds, biopsies minor surgical excisions and other procedures.
Provides extensive one on one education with patients- providing emotional support, assisting them to become more knowledgeable about their disease. Discussing pre- and post op care. Evaluation of patients for financial or social needs.
Responds to and coordinates incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications, procedures and treatment instructions.
Organizes and leads- monthly Breast Cancer Support Group.
Active involvement in Breast cancer related community events.
Maintain statistical data and report monthly.
Mentors other clinical staff

Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. It is necessary to view and type on a computer screen for prolonged periods of time.

High school diploma or graduate equivalent.
Graduate of nursing program with a minimum of 3 years experience, preferably in the outpatient medical setting.
Licensed by the state of Texas for nursing discipline.
Computer proficiency
Organized with strong work ethic.
Professional speaking skills and appearance.
