The core function of this position is to plan, implement and maintain SIP network infrastructure. This position will also participate in the development of processes and relationships with other departments within TelePacific communications to meet the needs in planning, designing, building, and managing the VOIP network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance, installation and optimization of the following elements
Acme Packet Session Directors
Broadsoft BroadWorks suite of application servers (AS, NS, MS, EWS)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (including LDAP, BIND, Apache, Postgre, Postfix, Courier IP, and Dovecot)
Genband C3, Genband G6, and Cisco AS5400 Gateways
Cisco Catalyst series of switches (6500, 3750, 4500)
Cisco routers (7200, 7600, layer 3 switching)
Cisco ISR series routers and Integrated Access Devices operating as voice gateways
Cisco CUBE supporting SIP Connect
Adtran TA900 Integrated Access Devices
SAN storage, iSCSI, server backups and recovery
Evaluate and Certify SIP PBX equipment and software
Participate in Budgetary and Planning exercises
Other relevant tasks as directed by department leadership
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
Ten (10) years of experience in telecommunications specifically related to VOIP engineering.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong engineering and operational experience in Service Provider networks
In depth understanding of SIP, RTP, RTCP, and DTMF interworking
Understanding of Acme Packet Session Directors, policy routing, realms, and various configuration options
Experience configuring and maintaining Broadworks including patching, upgrades, logs, debugs, virtual traces
In depth understanding of Broadworks Network Server policies, routing network elements, and rate centers
Ability to perform SIP debugs, capture and analyze SIP, DTMF, and RTP to isolate and resolve issues
Understanding of Jitter, Delay, Echo, Gaps, and how to troubleshoot these occurrences
Hands on experience configuring Cisco routers and switches
Good knowledge and understanding of MPLS
Experience with SIP Peering and interconnects between carriers
Intermediate to advanced Unix scripting experience is a plus
Experience with IP PBX Trunking and SIP Connect a plus
This position requires limited short-term travel assignment with short notice.
