The information technology organization has global responsibility for delivering state of the art information technology solutions for the enterprise. The Enterprise eBusiness Application team is responsible for the design, development, and support of global customer facing web-based portal applications. Specifically, we are recruiting for an Information Technology professional with proven e-Commerce and web architecture expertise for http://www.pb.com/ , our corporate website. Position Summary
The duties of the Architect include leading the application design, architecture and implementation of PB's E-Commerce platform.
The Architect must have experience in the design of large scale internet sites, preferably a large scale ecommerce site. Experience in key E-commerce components such as payment processing, merchant of record, product management tools, global address validation, security, order processing and fulfillment are required.
The Architect must have experiences creating application architectures that can scale to high volumes, and achieve system performance on a global scale.
The Architect must demonstrate a mastery of web technology architectures and industry standard protocols
The Architect must be comfortable with leading a team of other architects within business, application/systems, data/information and technical architecture disciplines and must be able to explain clearly the benefits of an architectural approach. The Architect will also provide technical mentorship to other team members.
The Architect will be responsible for providing input into the E-Commerce plan of record, driving the teams to build the necessary components of the E-commerce platform and ensuring that new projects follow architecture standards.
The Architect will have a proven track record of successfully delivering projects related to E-commerce, portals, architecture and software development. Responsibilities
Demonstrate strong capabilities in assessing business needs while providing creative and effective solutions in conformance to emerging technology standards. Translate business requirements and product vision into application architecture.
Provide direction and guidance on solution designs and architecture to ensure appropriate fit with enterprise standards. Collaborate with product and project managers, other architects as well as business to define architectural standards, architectural deliverables and project estimates.
Propose the most optimum eCommerce technical solutions in order to drive industry "best in class" KPI results.
Demonstrate experience with implementing structured and unstructured content management solutions to support an eCommerce site
Provide management over the web application development lifecycle, including user interface design, html development, dynamic site development
Ensure that E-commerce projects are architected and delivered according to the E-Commerce plan of record.
Liaise with business stakeholders, technical teams, and upper management.
Ensure that teams deploy E-Commerce projects successfully to production.

A Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) is required.
10+ years of software engineering and architecture experience in a fast paced corporate environment.
Experience with payment processing, checkout processing, order processing or E-Commerce experience is required.
Experience designing and building web applications for extremely high traffic and transaction volumes.
Experience working with ecommerce systems and a knowledge of the sales and distribution business domain.
Experience with SOA and ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) concepts and frameworks.
Experience with J2EE software design (Servlets/JSP, JSF, Struts, AJAX, EJB, Web Services, Portlets) and application architecture patterns.
Comprehensive experience in Java, J2EE, JSP, EJB, HTML, XML, Web 2.0, AJAX, REST, Web Services and SQL
Comprehensive experience with eCommerce engines, IBM WebSphere Commerce is desirable
Comprehensive experience with JSR 168 & JSR 286 portal specs, IBM WebSphere Portals is desirable
Familiarity with Web 2.0 concepts.
Strong knowledge of LINUX/UNIX web infrastructure, networks, databases and security concepts.
Enterprise level IT experience with a high level understanding of various technologies (Middleware, SAP, Data warehousing, Legacy systems)
Experience with architecture design concepts and techniques and the ability to communicate and evangelize those concepts to a broad based team.
Load testing and performance optimization of java based web application
Understanding of various development methodologies, including:
Iterative Development Methods (Unified Process and Agile)
Ability to question, challenge and effectively influence solutions proposed by other technical teams.
Ability to make the development and architecture teams operate efficiently through the use of best practices, processes and tools.
Strong problem solving skills, ability to triage technical issues and drive resolution with cross functional teams.
Strong decision-making skills, and an understanding of where projects fit into the overall architecture strategy.
Ability to roll with changes in a dynamic work environment, shaping changes into opportunities. Proven performance record with demonstrated leadership skills
