We currently have an opening for an Operations Manager-Dock in Georgetown, KY

Key operational accountabilities include:

· Oversees the design, development and implementation of all standard operating procedures

· Ensures workforce capacity and capability is in place to meet customer requirements

· Makes certain all required resources are in place (forklifts, dock doors, lighting, ect.) to execute against performance requirements

· May act as the primary contract with Fleet operations, ensuring onsit e shunt operations are functioning efficiently and effectively

· Establishes goals for cross dock improvements; promoting ongoing continuous improvement efforts

· Uses input form Dock Supervisors and Dock Leads to develop KPI’s

· Oversees reporting on cross dock performance to Transfreight Management and the Customer

· Acts as champion for continuous improvement across the cross dock operations, including goal setting, accountability measures, and support with implementation

· Effectively uses lean manufacturing and critical thinking tools to optimize facility performance and resolve service failure issues

· Ensures the Service Center Is kept in good repair, including tools, equipment, grounds, yard, and facilities for team members and Customers

· Ensures effective perfor mance management practices are in place to support enhanced team member performance against business requirements

· Provide coaching, feedback and development for direct reports in support of performance goals and career development

· Communicate key company i nformation to staff, ensuring an understanding of customer and operational concerns

· Escalates safety and compliance concerns to Facility/Service Center/Contract Manager and/ or Safety and Compliance to facilitate changes in policy and practices

· Support the Facility/Service Center/Contract Manager by providing management reporting and information for presentation to the customer

· Acts as the point of contact for the customer on service delivery concerns; escalate as appropriate to Facility/Service Center/Cont ract Manager for discussion with the Customer

· Provides input to and has primary responsibility for staying within budgeted amounts associated with department

Successful candidates will possess:

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Can both think statically and make good decisions under pressure

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

· Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, preferred

· Previous experience in Transportation/Third Party Logistics discipline, preferred
