SRI International is looking for a full time Software Engineer to support a large contract in the APG area in support of the US Army Communications Electronic Command (CECOM). Candidate will serve as a Software Engineer for a technical program with US Army CECOM for the Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (CREW) Duke sustainment team. We are looking for an experienced Software or Electrical Engineer to evaluate, develop, test, and/or maintain Windows software and embedded firmware for several CREW systems and their ancillary support equipment. The candidates will serve as part of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for CREW systems, acting as Subject Matter Experts for their software products and working with several other functional areas at a quick mission tempo. Systems include Quick Reaction Capability and Program of Record systems currently deployed or in development to defeat RCIED threats worldwide.
Primary tasks will include, but are not limited to:
--Provide independent review and evaluation of all draft and final CREW system software, firmware, and threat loads; software documentation, and system engineering products produced by prime contractors, including, but not limited to, specifications, plans, and reports.
--Support development, architecture evaluation, testing, and integration tasks in support of software engineering efforts across one or multiple CREW systems and their support equipment.
--Provide software engineering support in software testing, software code auditing, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), Program Reviews, Design Reviews, Test Planning and Readiness Reviews (TIWG/TRR), Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, and other meetings/reviews requiring software technical support as required.
--Analyze changes and impacts of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Software Change Requests (SCRs) on system performance and ancillary products.
--Maintaining and updating fielded laptop images and configurations, to include IAVA patching, updates of onboard CREW software, independent test, and laptop imaging and replication services.
--Providing software engineering support to Load Set (e.g. jamming program) development, including independent verification and validation (IV&V), Software Functional Qualification Test (SFQT), laboratory testing, and open-air field testing.
--Conducting IV&V of new software products to verify system performance. Develop additional support products as required for the execution of full IV&Vs, analysis, and reporting of results as directed.
--Implementing software changes and developing updated and new software tools as required.
Previous experience working with and/or supporting DoD and Department of Army systems such as Electronic Warfare (EW) systems and Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) systems, Software and Systems Lifecycle Management, Post Production Software Support/Post Deployment Software Support (PPSS/PDSS), Acquisition Process, and process improvement (CM/CMMI) preferred.
--Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
--3+ years related technical experience. An additional 4 years direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education.
--Must be a US citizen and possess a SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain a valid U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance.
--Skill in Software program management, coordinating with project management and organization leadership to inform, brief, and advice status of software test activities and test results.
--Languages: C++ or C# MS Windows programming, including MS .NET 2.0, preferred
--Must be able to travel to CONUS locations to participate in technical reviews, training, and testing; travel is estimated at less than 25%
--Strong Visio, PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
--Excellent written and spoken communication skills
--Ability to follow security rules
--Demonstrated prior experience with radio frequency (RF) systems strongly preferred
--Ability to apply software project management methodologies and techniques to manage system software development project is preferred
