  • POSITION SUMMARY : In close collaboration with the EMHS Systems Director of Supply Chain, the EMMC Director of Materials Management and the Manager of Education provides coordination for the development, implementation and management of systems that facilitate standardization of medical supplies, equipment, and related clinical practices. Provides evidence-based evaluation of clinical supply quality, contract compliance, standardization and supply chain cost containment. Collaborates with the Clinical Educators and Managers to ensure a coordinated approach to product selection, education and implementation.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED : Maine StateNursing Licensure, BSN preferred

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED : Minimum five years nursing experience. Demonstrates strong clinical skills. Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills, teamwork, and organizational skills. Effective collaborative, problem solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and data management.

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS : Experience in value analysis methodologies. Ability to build supportive relationships with Medical and Nursing Staff. Ability to adapt to change.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Capacity to concentrate in a busy and often stressful environment. Ability to come in close contact with people. Sitting, and extended periods of standing and walking are required. Reaching and stretching may be required at any time. Ability to push and pull heavy equipment. The nurse must be able to stretch, reach, and retrieve equipment from the supply carts or bend to reach equipment supplied below knee level.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT : Fast paced environment. Participation in the development of unit specific strategic goals that assist with the fulfillment of the Eastern Maine Medical Center mission and vision.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Sitting, Standing, Walking required. In addition to unit specific addendum must possess upper body strength, agility, and lung capacity necessary to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Capacity to concentrate in a busy and often stressful environment.
