Police - City - 04-04 (4975:4); Police Trainee -- HOURLY: $15.00. Upon successful completion of Lincoln Police Department Police Academy, Police Officer; MONTHLY: $3,792.36. Hours to be scheduled. If you are a certified law enforcement officer, your application may be reviewed by the Chief of Police and you may be eligible to obtain Police Officer or Lateral Entry status prior to the completion of the Lincoln Police Department Academy. Officers' duties fall into four main categories: Traffic, crime control, social control, and management which occur with considerable regularity and overlap into several different areas. Qualifications: High school graduate or G.E.D.; no conviction of a felony; valid driver's license; must be 21 years old by July 4, 2013 and a U.S. Citizen. All applicants who meet minimum qualifications listed will be scheduled for a written test. Testing will be conducted Wednesday, February 6th, Thursday, February 7th or Friday, February 8th, 2013 (You may only test ONE TIME during this recruitment period). Applicants will receive testing information approximately prior to the test date chosen. City of Lincoln or Lancaster County. Benefits for part-time, classified
employees are available depending upon the number of hours worked per
week and prorated accordingly. Temporary and unclassified positions are
paid for hours worked and offer NO BENEFITS. Certain non-career service
grant-funded positions may specify terms and conditions of employment.
The City of Lincoln will soon begin the process to revise and restate the
civilian employee retirement plan by amending the plan to reduce the City's
contribution match. Applicants hired subsequent to the effective date of the
amendment will only be eligible to participate in the amended retirement plan.
