The Charge Master/Compliance Manager is primarily responsible for tracking and monitoring COC; open audits (OIG, Medicaid OIG, Medicaid, Medicare and internal HCA); and compliance issues as well as ensuring the integrity of Charge Master and related processes. This individual will lead the Charge Master Support Analyst(s) in working with outside vendors to conduct monthly Charge Master reviews, ensuring recommendations comply with Federal guidelines and implementing appropriate changes. As a Manager, this individual must demonstrate strong commitment to stakeholder relationships by taking ownership of issues and facilitating effective outcomes in a timely manner. Present Code of Conduct Orientation and Refresher training Track and monitor COC Track and monitor open audits (OIG, Medicaid OIG, Medicaid, Medicare and internal HCA) Track and monitor Compliance issues Create and present Medicare and State Medicaid billing regulations educational materials as needed Asst with FPO functions (HIPAA compliance and tracking of inappropriate disclosures, security issues and Reportable Events) Participate on and prepare items for Compliance Oversight Committee Ensure proper maintenance of Charge Master and related processes Review Charge Master in cooperation with outside vendor, Health Information Management, Billing, Ancillary Department heads, Finance and Administration to ensure compliance and appropriate statement of revenue Evaluate current charge mechanisms and systems (e.g.
OR module, Smart, Accudose, Pyxis, OEP) to assess efficiency and effectiveness of charge capture Provide for an electronic audit trail for Charge Master changes, additions and deletions Coordinate with department managers to identify trends and address issues related to appropriate charge capture Associate’s Degree required, preferably in a healthcare field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement HIM or nursing experience needed
