Pharmacist in Charge
Geiger-Gibson Community Health Center
The Pharmacist in Charge is responsible for the overall daily operation of the pharmacy department including but not limited to: operational collaboration with the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services; purchasing; preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical collaboration and interaction with medical staff; and appropriate/timely submission/reconciliation of drug claims and overall management of drug inventory and compliance.
Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE),
3-5 years pharmacy or related experience, preferably in outpatient clinic pharmacy services or retail pharmacy.
One year of experience as a direct supervisor of pharmacy technicians,
Proven organizational skills,
Computer Literate with basic to intermediate skills in the following Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
Current, valid, unrestricted license to practice Pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Technicians and pharmacy staff.
Preferred Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements:
Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm D) from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE),
1-3 years supervisory pharmacy or related experience, preferably in outpatient clinic pharmacy services or retail pharmacy,
Bilngual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese speaking preferred.

Excellent communication skills with patients and collaboration with health center staff and providers,
Duties require visual acuity, and eye hand coordination, finger dexterity and manipulative ability,
Frequent moving, standing and bending at least 80% of the time,
Must be able to lift at least 10-15 pounds,
On call responsibilities,
Must be able to provide coverage at our two Dorchester CHCs as needed.
Evening & Weekend Hours (if required):
Monday through Thursday 11am to 7pm
Friday and saturday 9am-5pm
