SUMMARY:

The Process Engineering Intern leads process improvement opportunities, leads quality and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements, and serves as a resource for process improvement techniques. This position provides leadership, guidance, and follow-through to support the completion of departmental goals and objectives. This is a paid, full-time internship lasting approximately 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2013.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties and responsibilities are representative and may be expanded.
  • Lead DOE’s (Design of Experiment) to optimize Standard Operating Conditions (SOC)

  • Participate in daily and week-long Kaizen Events

  • Interact with various departments, such as engineering, sales, marketing, or operations to complete assigned goals

  • Collect data in order to monitor process variation and to help set up DOE’s to further optimize and refine the process

  • Create standard work to enable process control for all personnel

  • Evaluation of measurement systems (Gauge R&R etc.)

  • Interpretation of data and presentation of results

  • Monitoring modifications and upgrades and troubleshooting existing processes

  • Generate reports from various databases to identify opportunities

  • Gain knowledge of Scholle products and their applications

  • Work individually or as a team member to perform root cause analysis

  • Create and present project work summary to department leadership and cross-functional teams

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in an Engineering field

  • Completion of at least one year of higher education

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Working proficiency of Microsoft Office programs

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
