Physical position involving sawing, hammering, drilling and operation of industrial power tools as well as hand tools.
High School diploma/GED
Specific academic achievement in architecture, construction or building is beneficial.
1-3 years building and/or packing/crating experience.
Good mathematical skills.
Some ability to read plans, drawings and schematics with interest to continue education.
Familiarity with packing and crating for domestic and international transport and specialty packing.
ISPM-15 knowledge valuable, but can be learned on the job.
Ability to drive a forklift.
Knowledge of different types of lumber and their application in packing and crating.
knowledge of packing and crating hardware (nails, screws, hinges, brackets).
Knowledge of paint, waterproofing techniques and coatings is beneficial but can be learned on the job.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Able to use strategic thinking, react quickly under pressure and access resources to aid in completion of tasks.
Experience with industrial power tools and hand tools and attending safety guidelines.
Must be able to multi-task in high pressure situations and maintain focus and purpose.
