Rio Tinto Shared Services (RTSS)

has an immediate opening for an

Accountant (1 year fixed term assignment)

that will support Rio Tinto's internal departments and other client business units. This position will be located at the Regional Center office in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Financial areas have responsibility for Accounts Payable & Treasury transactions, Compliance & Assurance (internal & external auditing, insurance, company secretary, credit management and SOX support) and Financial Accounting (capital accounting and support, month-end corporate accounting and general accounting support). The RTSS Staff Accountant will provide accounting support for internal departments and client business units.

Process intercompany billing and statement confirmations

Research and provide documentation supporting billing and resolve billing issues

Monitor intercompany balances and escalate aged items

Participate in process improvement projects

Perform general ledger reconciliations

Prepare journal entries

Bachelor's degree in accounting required.

0-2 years relevant work experience.

Experience with SAP preferred
