Transcribes data and is responsible for all documentation available for physicians. Assures all patients discharged and/or transferred from NICU have a printed discharge summary of their NICU care. Researches and compiles statistical information.
Collaborate on an as needed basis on NIS Neonatal Database Statistics with physicians, director, clinicians and nursing staff to provide information available from the program including but not limited to information related to diagnosis, length of stay, readmission rate, medications, and demographics. Assures NIS is working appropriately, all supplies are available and acceptable communication is maintained with IS department. Maintains appropriate work area/environment. QualificationsCandidate should demonstrate an understanding of medical terminology, efficient data entry, computer skills (i.e.
software/internet,) medical coding (i.e. ICD-9, CPT) and general knowledge of lab and hospital procedures. High school diploma or GED required, some college course work desired. Candidates with outstanding interpersonal skills are encouraged to apply.
