Schedules all patients' appointments for the Woman's Gynecologic/Oncology Department. Verifies insurance; verifies/obtains referrals when needed; collects payments as needed; and updates patient demographics each visit. Performs office duties such as: working with physicians and staff to assure correct scheduling; distribution of daily dictation to the referring physicians; and acting as a liaison between referring physician and staff. Other duties include, but are not limited to, answering mulit-line phones, filing, preparing patient charts, and obtaining all patient records from referring physician. Performs other duties assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.
High school diploma is required.
Requires one to three years experience in a physician office. Scheduling experience, insurance and computer skills required.
Must have excellent customer service, phone, organizational, computer, and typing skills. Must have working knowledge of insurance companies. Must be multi-task oriented and some knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
