Position Title: Director of Sales & Marketing

Viceroy New York will debut in one of the best locations in Manhattan; the fusion of business and leisure on West 57 th Street between 6 th and 7 th Avenues. The Roman and Williams-designed façade of the hotel stands apart from its traditional neighbors with a distinctive appearance that creatively blends classic modern elements with bold, traditional rhythms in a disciplined grid of black brick and steel. Currently in development by Ark Partners, this game-changing hotel will debut in September 2013.

Job Description:

This position functions as the strategic business leader of the property’s Sales & Marketing Department and is responsible for leading all disciplines to include Group Sales, Transient Sales, Revenue Management, Public Relations, e-Commerce and Marketing. Main responsibilities include to secure top line revenues, manage the departmental expenses, training & education, recruitment and owner relationships. This is an Executive Committee position.

General Responsibilities Include:

  • Understands the overall New York City market- and competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand and knows how to position the hotel against them.
  • Generate comprehensive pre-opening Sales & Marketing plan.
  • Generate initial pricing strategy of the hotel.
  • Active involvement in budgeting process.
  • Recruitment and staffing of sales team.
  • Direct handling of key tour operator accounts in source markets.
  • Work with Public Relations company to launch resort in key source markets.
  • Set up familiarization tours with key tour operators.
  • Effectively develops relationships within the community.
  • Develops opening collateral of the hotel.
  • Attends major trade shows pre- and post opening.

  • Qualification standards:
    • 3-5+ years minimum of DOSM experience
    • Luxury and International hotel experience preferred
    • Strong knowledge of the international tour operator business
    • Previous experience in the New York City market preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
