Hawk Institute for Space Sciences, a full service engineering company, specializing in aerospace engineering for commercial and government agencies is seeking Power Systems Engineers for immediate work in Greenbelt, MD or Norfolk, VA.
Power Systems Engineers will fill technical engineering roles in support of design, analysis, test and operation of spacecraft / satellite electrical power systems and payload interfaces for our NASA customer. Candidate should possess knowledge in the following areas: Power circuit design and analysis , requirements development, power system concept development, power simulations, power system sizing and performance analysis, leadership of hardware development efforts, integration and test support, launch and mission operations support.
BSEE with a minimum of 2 years direct experience in spacecraft Electrical Power Subsystem Engineering with a solid understanding of all aspects of power system architectures - power generation, power conversion, storage, distribution, control, and fault protection is highly desired.
Candidates with significant experience in one or more of these focus areas will be considered.
Hands-on experience with hardware design, interface definition, fabrication and testing is highly desirable.
Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
Effective in small team work environment with broad responsibilities
Capable of performing solar array, battery, power conversion/distribution sizing and performance analysis, including WCA, FMEA, and stability analysis.
Experience with circuit design and analysis.
