Position Description
Provide leadership in the development of a new CyberSecurity program that incorporates curricula and programmatic elements of CNSS/NSA. The candidate will also develop and teach undergraduate/graduate courses and provide leadership with laboratory development in CyberSecurity related to telecommunication networks, information systems security management, assessment and planning, network defense, internet security, computer forensics, and cyber terrorism. Be involved in advising students, serving on committees, and pursuing professional development activities. Starting date is spring or fall semester 2011, with preference given to spring start date.
Required Qualifications
Doctorate or master’s degree in telecommunications, information technology, engineering, technology or a related field (Doctorate degree is required for tenure-track appointment and candidates with a master’s degree with professional/industry experience relevant to the field will be considered for non-tenure track appointment)
Demonstrated strong communication skills
Appropriate academic background and practical experience to teach and develop curriculum for applicable courses
Demonstrated commitment to the teacher/scholar model
Demonstrated ability and/or experience in writing quality grants and scholarly publications (Required for tenure-track appointment)
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community
Demonstrated commitment to working with multi-cultural populations and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities
