Primary function: Lead the strategic planning, design, development and implementation of II-VI global communication network architecture. Drive effective investments in network technologies and services to support a converged network utility delivering applications, data, voice, video, wireless and mobile access. Establish, promote, and enforce standards for network technologies, applications, security, and processes to ensure performance, connectivity, integrity, resiliency and consistency between and across II-VI locations.
Proactively work with IT and business leaders to support the geographic and functional expansion of network services.
Lead key information technology communication project initiatives globally. Lead and mentor, provide support and direction to networking staff in other global II-VI IT locations.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Manager, Global Projects and Architecture
Education: BS degree in Computer Science or related area. Advanced Degree preferred.
Experience: 8 - 10 years of experience in systems, network and telephony planning, design and management. More than three years proven experience in project management. Certified Network Engineer (CCIE) or equivalent preferred.
Special Abilities: Expert in network and data communication protocols, technologies and services. Able to design, implement and support a converged network consisting of voice, data, video traffic.Demonstrated skills in project planning, project management, documentation, problem-solving and work prioritization.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with end-users, management, IT professionals and vendors.Excellent customer service skills including telephone techniques, listening skills, sense of urgency and enthusiasm.Must be both team-oriented and self-motivated.Willing to travel, domestic and international
