This position is located in Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) or Customer Service Detachment (CSD). This mission of the activity is to provide military pay and personnel services to all Navy personnel and passenger transportation and travel claim settlement services to all military, civilian, and other DOD sponsored personnel assigned including ships and squadrons in a specified geographic area.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Must be eligible for, and maintain eligibility for a secret clearance

Must be able to type at least 40 WPM

DUTIES:
  • Provides efficient, responsive and quality passenger transportation services based on governing laws, directives and regulations.
  • Serves as the on-site authority for passenger transportation.
  • Reviews orders involving foreign and domestic passenger travel to determine cost effective routings and airfares.
  • Responsible for the preparation and accountability of Government Transportation Requests (GTRs), utilized for human remains and DOD personnel from other branches of service.
  • Receives and processes partial and totally unused tickets, miscellaneous charge orders (MCO), credit slips/checks of legal tender, and refund notices received from airlines, the customer and/or customer commands, and are responsible for forwarding to the CTO or DFAS to ensure correct line of accounting (LOA) is credited to the appropriate activity.
  • Processes No-Fee passport applications (regular, official, and diplomatic) for all military and civilian personnel and/or their dependents for all government-sponsored agencies within area of responsibility.
  • Uses automated systems to perform tasks to acquire passenger tickets, track and monitor passenger travel arrangements, and input/abstract data for reporting purposes.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one or more years of progressively related experience. Creditable specialized experience includes planning and arranging passenger travel involving different types or combinations of modes of transportations, isolated origins overseas, intermediate/destination points, and multiple stops for temporary duty, connections between commercial and government air, or authorized rest stops, foreign currencies, and special services (i.e., human remains, bedside, and escort travel). Review passenger travel documents involving foreign and domestic travel to determine cost effective routings and airfares. Determine correct modes of passenger travel, develop itineraries, and airline reservations to include the most direct routes with least cost and time, to worldwide destinations, have been accomplished by the travel office. Process No-Fee passport applications (regular, official, and diplomatic) for all military and/or civilian personnel and/or their dependents for all organizations within area of responsibility.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

A security clearance may be a requirement of this position.
