Senior Staff Packaging Engineer - 632181 Description
This optical packaging engineer position is expected to participate the definition of optical coupling strategy for fiber optics transceiver, and implement such strategy with design and process development, and eventually take it to production. The individual is expected to be independent thinker and will carry out project from definition to prototype, failure analysis, optimization and eventually to successful production implementation. The individual is expected to work within a team of different disciplines, and be able to influence both design and operation.

Candidates must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous job experiences.

Minimum qualifications
- Must have a MS or PhD in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Material Science
- Minimum 5 years of experience with fiber optics packaging and fiber connector technology
- Minimum 5 years of experience with die attachment, wire bond, micro optics assembly
- Minimum 5 years of experience with optical packaging design and process
- Minimum 5 years of experience with process optimization and SPC

Preferred qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the following skill sets:
- Precision mechanical design, tolerance analysis, packaging material selection
- TOSA, ROSA and optical transceiver prototype and manufacturing process
- Developing precision optical alignment technology and implementing such in a high volume production
