      SUMMARY The role is to lead the provision of ongoing R&D support to a defined RB portfolio of products through the management and development of a small team of people.

      SCOPE / DIMENSIONS OF ROLE · To lead a team accountable for providing R&D support to the portfolio of RB Health and Vitamin Mineral Supplement (VMS) products produced under the management of the Healthcare supply organization in the US , enabling defence, revenue growth and compliance of the brands. This will be principally focused upon the VMS business in Salt Lake City .
      · To manage an operation that complies fully with required GMP and regulatory requirements.
      · To interface with key partners and stakeholders (Supply, regulatory, local and global marketing, Category R&D) on a daily basis.
      · To be responsible for the management of all technical matters relating to the projects for which he/she has accountability.
      · With the SSG Director Health, to provide input to the development of the Global Health SSG Strategy.
      RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES Lead and manage a team within the Global Health Scientific Services team to provide first line R&D maintenance support to the portfolio of Health and VMS brands supplied from Salt Lake City and the US Healthcare supply area.
      • Day to day management of personnel and budget, including motivation and development of Scientific Services human resources.
      • To lead the delivery of local facility improvements, namely; Offices and Laboratories. Ensuring that a professional and compliant working environment is provided for the team.
      • Ensure that the development facilities and processes are operated with a prioritization to Health and Safety and also to the required standards of good manufacturing and laboratory practice. Ensure that all work performed is subject to the scrutiny of internal and external auditors.
      • Development and driving team strategy and prioritisation of activities in alignment with business partners and targets.
      • Interact with other Health Scientific Services Managers to share best practices and collaborate in Global Health activities.
      • Provide leadership for all R&D Health brand maintenance support for the US Healthcare and VMS portfolio.
      • Support Net Revenue Growth o
      Can be delegated by R&D Development Groups to work on formula adaptations for local needs o

      Provide support to the innovation of local brands as per agreed local pipeline and funding
      • Support plants in Area of responsibility: o
      Qualify alternative raw materials or suppliers in support of procurement, under guidance and with approval of the relevant R&D Development Group o

      Work with Supply Technical to support the resolution of production issues. o

      Work with Quality Management, QA and Ongoing Stability to support the resolution of quality issues. o

      Support Supply Packaging in the implementation of alternative packaging materials, components or suppliers o

      Provide technical guidance and support for production transfers affecting the US Healthcare and VMS supply cluster. Ensure that all product needs are met in line with regulatory strategies and quality requirements. o

      Identify opportunities for formula harmonization, cost optimization and provide the R&D support to enable the realization of GM improvement activities
      • Provide daily R&D support to local/category marketing and commercial teams o
      Active participation in local/regional/category margin improvement team activities. o

      Work with R&D Development Groups and Regulatory teams to address competitor and authority challenges o

      Provide technical backup for legal cases o

      Work with QA and QM to support resolution of consumer complaints
      • Response to regulatory challenges o
      Work with RB regulatory teams to ensure our products comply with national, industry and internal standards. Support all regulatory authority questions and ensure that product licenses are managed in line with the required standards.

      Qualifications
      :
      PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
      · Educated to Degree level (Chemistry, pharmacy, chemical engineering or other relevant science)
      EXPERIENCE
      · Minimum 6 years R&D Healthcare experience with a proven track record of delivery.
      · Working knowledge of VMS and Monograph technical files, CTD modules and Medical Device technical files.
      · Proven track record as a leader in planning, prioritization and implementing projects as well as identifying costs savings and problem solving
      · Proven track record in active collaboration with R&D and non-R&D functions
      · Experience with recruitment, management and development of people.
      · Experience of working in a remote managed environment.
