The College seeks applicants for the position, Director of the Strommen Career and Internship Center
The Director of the Strommen Center is responsible for providing dynamic leadership, developing and implementing an innovative vision of career planning services for undergraduate, adult and graduate students and alumni, engaging in the broader vision of the Strommen Center for meaningful work and building meaningful connections to campus community members and employers. The Director will build and engage a collaborative and creative team of staff to achieve the vision and mission of the center. The Director will also be responsible for the administrative duties related to the center including supervision of staff and students, budget management, data collection and assessment of programs.
Required Skills
Provide leadership for planning, development and administration of career services and internships
Lead and support a team of staff to provide exceptional service to our diverse student population and alumni
Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to expand the career and internship opportunities for students and alumni
Collaborate with other students, support programs, student affairs programs, academic departments, alumni relations, faculty and staff to foster the integration of the concept of vocation, experiential learning and career exploration into the curriculum to prepare students and alumni for meaningful work
Develop and implement a plan to capitalize on emerging technologies to enhance career services for students and alumni
Hire, train and supervise full-time and part-time professional staff, manage program budgets, supervise collection of data and evaluate the effectiveness of the programming
Provide students with career counseling, career assessment delivery and assessment interpretation as needed
Provide career workshops, class presentations, career events and other teaching opportunities as needed
Required Experience
Master's Degree in Career Counseling or related field
Ten (10) years experience in career and internship services and/or career counseling, preferably in a higher education setting
Excellent organization and management skills
Ability to teach individuals and/or groups required
Ability to think creatively and take calculated risks
