This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the administrative support operations and educational outcomes of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program. This includes oversight and management of resident human resource issues, accreditation compliance, budgeting, and operational improvements. This position also develops and oversees initiatives to enhance educational outcomes, including development and implementation of simulation.

  • Provide leadership and direction for the GME staff including recruitment, retention, skills development and training, evaluation and performance management. * Develops initiatives to enhance educational outcomes, including, in collaboration with the GME Leadership team, development and oversight of simulation, patient safety training, faculty development. Oversees incorporation of simulation in curriculum; works collaboratively with other disciplines to develop multidisciplinary training where appropriate. * Enhances methods to use outcomes data and evaluations systems to assess attainment of the ACGME competencies and to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Provides leadership to support maintenance of accreditation. * Develops and manages GME budget. * Develops working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff and students within the institution as well as with other GME programs. * Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.
Master's Degree or higher in Education, Administration, and/or Training and Development; or equivalent work experience. Clinical degree a plus. Excellent skills and experience in project management and people skills. Minimum seven years of related work experience; experience in graduate medical education and/or clinical education preferred.

Thorough understanding of graduate medical education, simulation technology and clinical applications is a plus. Knowledge of lean production or six sigma highly desirable. Self-directed, flexible, adaptable to needs of GME. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills.

Excellent people management skills. Proficient in multi-tasking, problem-solving, prioritizing, analyzing, organizing and planning. Ability to initiate, manage and complete multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously. Skills and Attributes include the following: knowledge of GME, accreditation requirements, simulation services, technologies and applications; knowledge of educational theory and instructional technology; computer literacy in PC software applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
