We’re searching for an experienced and influential email industry expert who will interact with receivers, industry groups, and key customers at SendGrid. The ideal candidate is a regular at industry events and will continue to attend and participate in these events, building and managing relationships with ISPs, mailbox providers, hosting providers, spam filter vendors, and others in the messaging industry.
We’re looking for a deliverability professional who can recommend solutions to our email ecosystem and establish SendGrid’s reputation as a trusted sender by improving SendGrid’s delivery and defining compliance policies.
In addition to industry focused activities, the Industry Relationship Manager will advise SendGrid’s growing number of high-volume, enterprise customers and will promote email best practices directly, through publication of blog posts and email whitepapers, and speaking at industry events. This position will initially have responsibilities that are very broad in scope. It will require someone who can do it all, who is resourceful, who has a strong technical and business skills, and one who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
What you’ll do
Be an ambassador who builds working relationships with mailbox providers, ISPs, filtering companies, and others in the messaging industry. Attend and participate in the MAAWG and related conferences
Architect systems, policies, and standards to improve email’s usefulness, reliability, and trustworthiness for everyone involved
Demonstrate SendGrid’s leadership by authoring whitepapers, blog posts, and by speaking at conferences and events
Directly support our customers experiencing deliverability problems, providing solutions and education to resolve issues
Keep up to date with ever changing legal requirements, privacy regulations, and email best practices
Identify ways to improve SendGrid’s customer provisioning and abuse detection/prevention efforts
About you
5+ years business experience and strong understanding of email messaging, protocols, filtering applications/techniques, and email industry best practices
Analytical thinker with the ability to creatively make sense of data, generate new ideas, take risks, propose change, encourage innovation, and solve problems
Jack of all trades that is equally comfortable solving technical problems as they are networking and creating business relationships. You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, and don’t hesitate to get hands dirty, making efficient use of available resources to get problems solved.
A BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field
