Job Title: Procurement Manager - Software Engineering Services
Reporting To: Global Category Manager - SES

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manage and make critical decisions on all aspects of supplier relationship including contracts, commercial/pricing, supply assurance and conflict resolution
  • Implement and execute category strategies through alignment with Harman International business units, engineering, quality, manufacturing activities. Requires knowledge of the business units technology and product roadmaps and specific expertise in procurement and manufacturing cost structure
  • The role requires a sophisticated level of relationship management interfacing with CEOs and business presidents of global suppliers, requiring balancing of interests to maintain mutually beneficial relationships
  • Coordination of mid and executive level engagement between procurement, supply chain functions and senior stake holders within the business unit. This person will be an escalation/communication point for Harman International and the supply partner
  • Align category strategy with supply chain and business requirements
  • Establish consistent commercial terms/conditions
  • Execute effective supplier negotiations and event driven cost reductions to meet annual cost reduction goals
  • Build appropriate senior level supplier relationships
  • Drive supplier rationalization strategy to maximize category leverage
  • Manage the bid and quote process
  • Serve as a point of contact for business unit sourcing issues and opportunities related to Software engineering services category
  • Establish goals, improvement plans, business reviews and monthly reporting related to areas of responsibility
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering degree desired)
  • Five to eight years of strategic, technical procurement experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Success in collaborating with key work partners and able to maintain relationships at the executive level
  • Strong presentation and writing skills
  • Ability to gather relevant information systematically; consider a broad range of issues or factors; grasp complexities and perceive the relationship among problems or issues; seek input from others
  • Establish challenging performance standards; work with enthusiasm, a feeling of investment, and a desire to excel
  • Ability to speak clearly and express self well in groups and in one-to-one conversations
