Job Description

Once this multi-year project is complete you will continue operating in the same environment with ownership over the system you created, to modify, extend, and continue creating innovative capabilities. Enterprise Systems provides technology support for applications across all lines of business. Enterprise Systems is comprised of Customer Information Systems (CIS), Deposit Systems, ES Architecture, Output Systems, Wholesale Customer Relationship Management (WCRM) and the supporting technology groups: Application Technology Services, Client Engagement and Delivery, and Business Management Office.

The Enterprise Systems CIS Team is responsible for supporting the firm's access to customer centric data. The CIS team works closely with the Architecture and Emerging Technologies team to assist in setting technology direction across Enterprise Systems.

As a Java Developer with the CIS team, you will be instrumental and responsible for providing high quality technology solutions that address business needs by modernizing the existing application. Responsibilities will include service modeling, design and development of the future CIS application. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Java and have a strong understanding of dependency injection, persistence frameworks, and databases technologies. Understanding of mainframe application architecture is a plus.

3+ years minimum experience in Information Technology with extensive experience and expertise in "ground up" architect/design of complex multi-tier enterprise applications on host and distributed environments.

Strong technical background with hands on experience for at least 5+ years in emerging technologies including but not limited to Java/J2EE, design patterns, object-oriented and open source frameworks.

Expertise in developing light weight business components and integrated applications using Struts, SOAP, XML, Ant, Maven, Spring Framework, Spring (MVC, Security and web services) and Websphere .

Expertise in SQL (DB2 UDB strongly desired)

Expertise in Hibernate and IBatis/MyBatis for Object Relational Mapping (ORM) and data persistence.

Experience with version controls such as Subversion and Clear Case.

Previous experience using. IBM WebSphere; Apache and Tomcat experience is a plus.

Full software life cycle experience with many industry standard methodologies including Agile development & Rational Unified Process (RUP), UML.

Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills and highly motivated team player with ability to work as a Lead or independently.

Ability to learn and adapt quickly to the emerging new technologies and toolsets.

Must have comprehensive expertise in the software development process.

Experience with Cobol a plus but not required.
