JOB TITLE: Assistant Auditor
DEPT/DIV: Audit Services
SALARY: Min: $43,771 Mid $54,714
SUPERVISOR: Director, Audit Services
HOURS OF WORK: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (7 1/2 hours, non exempt)
**Must be available to work weekends as necessary**

Under close supervision conducts audits and develops recommendations.
o Performs assigned audit or segment of audit under the direction of a senior auditor.
o Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of operating and internal controls.
o Assists in the selection of audit procedures and performing audit program.
o Prepares working papers summarizing evidentiary data obtained and conclusions researched.
o Discusses results of work with senior auditor, including deficiencies found and recommends corrective action.
o Participates in writing findings developed during the audit.
o Prepares analyses, reports, and other audit tasks as necessary.
o Knowledge of audit standards, applicable governmental and MTA and Agency-specific regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
o Ability to interact effectively with staff and management
o Progress towards certification (CPA/CIA/CISA/CFE, etc.) and/or graduate degree in business-related areas.
Education and Experience
o Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Auditing, Computer Science or other related business or operational field.
o Up to one year experience in internal control/technology/contract type auditing or related industry experience.
