The Director is responsible for managing, organizing and directing the work of the WCL Office of Technology. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, strategic and tactical IT planning, technology acquisition, personnel and budget management, project management, and technology policy development. The Director is responsible for overseeing the WCL data network, web services and the audio-visual systems to ensure that all components are current and in in compliance with security policies. The incumbent analyzes user needs, recommends changes as necessary, researches and recommends system standards, network, web and audio visual systems, and manages the implementation of new systems and services.

Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in training with at least 10 years of experience. IT certifications are desired.

Minimum Requirements:

Hands-on experience managing complex technology support organizations in higher education is required. Such experience should include strategic IT planning, budget development and management, personnel management, project management, and customer support services. Strong working knowledge of, Windows, Mac OS, Linux, VMWare, wired/wireless networking and security, Exchange, backup policies and procedures, SQL, audio/video streaming, ColdFusion, Sharepoint, Equitrac, HTML are required.

Preferred Requirements:

Prior experience in a law firm or law school technology office is strongly preferred. Experience with sophisticated audio-visual systems is strongly recommended. Experience supporting Datatel and Aces2 is strongly preferred. Significant experience with many of the following software programs is highly desired: EMS, FourWindsInteractive, Acrobat, CRMs, various LMS, legal database search programs, case management systems (preferably Amicus or Legal Server) and centralized administrative systems. It is also preferred that the incumbent demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work with diverse audiences; and ability to exercise independent judgment in daily operations.
