JOB SUMMARY:
Oversees local administration of PSC’s Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety programs, policies and procedures; manages site and/or project-specific environmental, health and safety programs in accordance with applicable regulations and in support of a safe and healthy work environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supports operations EHS activities and coaches/counsels the operations staff in fostering a zero tolerance culture, thereby ensuring environmental and safety compliance
  • Understands applicable regulations; develops and implements programs to ensure compliance
  • Participates in the training and orientation of new-hire employees, as well as the development and conduct of EHS and DOT compliance training
  • Ensures all EHS and DOT recordkeeping is properly documented and maintained in a well-organized manner
  • Ensures appropriate permits are in place and provisions are met
  • Strictly enforces EHS regulations, policies and procedures, and the application of the Safe On Purpose program
  • Conducts inspections and audits as required to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Assists in mitigation of hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with management and field personnel
  • Responds to management, customer and agency requests for EHS information on a timely and appropriate basis
  • Participates in incident investigations; ensures timely and complete reporting and documentation of all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions/activities
  • Compiles and submits regulatory reports and statistical updates
  • Identifies and assigns priorities to EHS project site representatives, if applicable
  • Performs other duties as required
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
  • BS in Environmental Management and/or Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline; or 8 years of relevant experience
JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 5 years of practical field experience in a service or plant environment
DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Well-developed technical and working knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations with exposure to DOT regulations
  • 40 HR OSHA certification
  • Valid drivers license
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational aptitude
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong coaching, planning, training and presentation skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • 50% Plant or field related activity
  • 50% Office / administrative related activity (100173)
