Description and Desired Qualifications
CH2M HILL - Human Resources Specialist- Anchorage, AK

Our Human Resources Specialist career path provides you with an opportunity to work with Human Resources professionals in a dynamic environment. As a Human Resources Specialist for the firm, you will support Human Resources initiatives and have the opportunity to increase your responsibilities and functions over time as you work on exciting and large scale projects. Each day you will be an important team member supporting the activities of our employees.

You should be a self-motivated professional with at least 2 years of experience in an HR administrative support role, preferably in an engineering or construction environment, and a desire to grow personally and professionally with each assignment.

Our Human Resources Specialists :
Assist HR Delivery Partners with on-boarding, employee transactions, communications and data analysis.

Conduct New Hire Orientation.

Assist with special projects such as performance reviews, open enrollment and anti-harassment training.

Compose and/or edit letters, memos, reports, procedures, etc.

Act as liaison between their own group/supervisor and others, such as other departments, external contacts, clients, etc.

Arrange meetings, clarify and resolve problems, coordinate work, maintain working relationships and public relations.

Oversee and/or process day-to-day administrative items (i.e. expense reports, supply requisitions, personnel transaction forms, operating budgets, etc.) per supervisor's authorization.

Prepare special reports, studies, statistical analysis, brochures, etc. per supervisor's request, which may require research, development and/or interpretation of data and should be performed with little supervision or instruction.

May interpret and administer a company policy, program or procedure requiring independent decision-making.

Are able to work well in a construction environment.

Manage the Drug and Alcohol Program and the Driver Qualification Program. SPECIAL NOTES:
CH2M HILL will not sponsor a work visa (e.g. H1B, etc.,) to fill this position.
As a condition of employment with CH2M HILL, any successful job applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment background investigation.

Basic Qualifications

2 + years of experience in an administrative support role.
Associates degree in a related field, or additional 2 years of related administrative experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience and proficiency with MS Office, with a high degree of proficiency with Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Qualifications, the ideal candidate will also meet the preferred qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
Work experience within the Human Resources function
Degree Required
High School or GED
Preferred Years of Experience
