Duties for the New Product Development Engineer include:
Overseeing all phases of new product development from design through production
Evaluating new product concepts through technical analysis and proposing changes as needed
Ensuring new product launches fall within budget guidelines and timelines
Developing DFMEAs
Coordinating with sales, engineering, production and customers on new product status
Specifying the corrects parts need for new products and coordinating the purchase of materials and tooling
Working with customers to make changes to new product prototypes
Helping with the development of BOM
Supporting production during new product launches as needed
Required experience for the New Product Development Engineer includes:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is necessary
A minimum of seven years experience as New Product Development Engineer in automotive manufacturing is essential
Proven experience developing new products from concept to completion
Proven experience with new product launches in automotive manufacturing
Strong knowledge of DFMEAs and GD&T
Strong mechanical aptitude and strategic thinker
