The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for the development of the master production schedules & detailed scheduling for the assign brands / products. Planning and scheduling workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times. The incumbent will use pertinent information from S&OP meetings to manage the monthly renewal process and ensure products demand is updated within SAP/APO to meet Customers' requirements. Provide clear requirements in regards to planning sequence of all manufacturing / packaging operations for guidance of production workers. Analyze production requirements / specifications, plant capacity data and inventory targets to perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. Monitor, analyze & report performance to schedule of production & production support activities, utilizing information derived from material and production control systems to ensure each operation meets shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Determine the status of assigned projects; expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Analyze and interpret construction bills of material, scopes, specifications, etc, to determine the content & plan manageable work elements. Analyze requests for maintenance/repair services & determines the validity, content & scope of requested work. Interface w/Purchasing, Engineering, New Products personnel to coordinate NPI windows. Participate in the Financial Business Plan providing forecasted volume and capacity planning for commercial products and new products activities. Actively participate in the planning and execution of strategies directed to achieve company goals and objectives.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Material Management, Pharmaceutical Operations or Engineering is required. A Master's Degree is preferred. Must have at least four (4) years of experience in materials management and/or transportation and logistics is required. Working experience within the Pharmaceutical industry is required. Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), regulatory compliance, Supply Chain, Planning Process and Materials Management is required. Knowledge and understanding in the Foreign Trade Zone regulations (FTZ) and Logistics is highly preferred. Association of Operations Management, previously known as the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), certification is preferred. Proficiency in the use of SAP, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish are required. Ability to establish positive interpersonal relations, interact with people effectively and work effectively under time pressure, achieving consistently high results through individual and team efforts. Good communication, leadership, negotiation and, time and project management skills. Availability to travel twenty percent (20%) of the time outside Puerto Rico is required. The incumbent must be able to work regular shifts and flexibility to change working schedule, working overtime and weekends according to business needs.
