Irwin Army Community Hospital (IACH) at Fort Riley, Kansas is searching full-time Family Medicine Physician to serve as the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) physician for a full range of cases, for Soldiers assigned to the Wounded Warriors Battalion. This position does not take call.
IACH is currently a 44-bed inpatient hospital with over 25 outpatient clinics. With a wide variety of services, IACH provides patients with quality, compassionate care, servicing a patient population of about 63,000 Active Duty Soldiers, Family Members and Retirees in the area. Recently the Department of Defense approved a new $404 million healthcare facility for IACH. The hospital is scheduled to be completed in 2013 and will be 550,000 square feet. This new facility will be 52-beds and will provide state-of-the-art patient rooms, more clinic space, and offer a better atmosphere for patient care. IACH is located at Fort Riley, which is nestled in the rolling, Flint Hills of Kansas, between the communities of Junction City and Manhattan. Manhattan is home to a major, Division One college, Kansas State University. Within a short, two hour drive are the major cities of Wichita and Kansas City, located to the south and east, respectively.
Scope of services include, but are not limited to:
Patients will have a wide range of both acute and chronic illnesses and conditions, must be able to refer as appropriate to specialty/sub-specialty care.
- Review of medical records
- Diagnostic and laboratory tests
- Determination of Soldier’s capabilities for the Physical Examination Board.
