Manages and coordinates the ordering, receiving and distribution of materials and equipment
for all corporations and locations in Martin Memorial Health Systems.
Oversees the logistics of product flow through the hospital purchasing and receiving operation.
Administers and oversees all corporate contracts. Manages the Materials Management database.
Manages the purchasing staff of Material Resources in a manner that meets the needs of hospital departments and is consistent with the policies and procedures of MMHS.
Develops new and maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs and safety standards.
Assures compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies, including Joint Commission, OSHA, et al.
Delegates responsibilities and duties to Purchasing staff
Coordinates product evaluations through involvement with SCMA and APRB.
Facilitates Administrative Product Review Board teams to include surgical, main and all adhoc teams.
Acts as a resource to department managers and other hospital associates in matters such as budgets, purchasing procedures, standardization and product utilization.
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Become a certified Material resource professional.
Administers and oversees all service and corporate contracts.
Acts as a resource and champion in the conversion or our IT system
Serves as administrator of the Material Resources Database system
Selects, trains/orients, assigns department associates, evaluates performance and initiates or recommends personnel actions.
Active member of SERMC.
Manages and oversees the recall and alert system for the corporation.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as needed.
Consistently demonstrates appropriate and professional communication behavior toward patients, customers, and coworkers. Cooperates with Management and peers to promote an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
Demonstrates strong leadership skills when dealing with upper management and strong communication skills to interact with all customers.
To effectively fulfill the requirements of this position, the candidate must have a Bachelors Degree (BA) from a four year college or university or sufficient experience as a Purchasing Supervisor or related position.
Strong computer skills are needed and background in performance excellence is an added value
