PROGRAM ASSISTANT FOR STUDENT RELATIONS, Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program (UPOP), to work as part of a team delivering student curriculum, including classroom events, small group coaching sessions, and individual conferences with student walk-ins or by appointment. Will review student resumes and written reports, conduct employer site visits during summer internships, and help deliver training workshops. Responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact for UPOP students; guiding students through program requirements and monitoring progress; critiquing student resumes and other written assignments; conducting site visits, closing interviews, and coaching workshops; improving and documenting program procedures for special/recurring events and in-office procedures; collaborating with the UPOP staff responsible for event planning, employer relations, and external communication; representing UPOP across campus and beyond; and fostering relationships with MIT faculty and administrators, employers, and industry volunteers. The position would be ideal for an individual with career aspirations in higher education.
REQUIREMENTS: two years of relevant work experience in higher education, facility with standard office software, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Seek flexible and well organized team player who demonstrates a passion for providing service to students. Must be able to adapt to changing program needs represented by shifts in student enrollment, funding levels, and curriculum improvements. Knowledge of MIT policies and procedures helpful.
