The Project Analyst II is responsible for assisting and supporting the Project Management Office (PMO) Staff, primarily the Lead Project Coordinator and the Project Management Office (PMO) Supervisor with projects undertaken to execute new and upgraded business processes and technology for SPP and possibly member committees. The analyst plays a vital role in the preparation, organization and maintenance of records and reports of the PMO department.

  • Prepare rough order of magnitude (ROM) project estimations, including internal costs as well as external capital costs
  • Assist in the preparation of PMO project portfolio and resource allocation reports and in the maintenance of project management tools- MS Project Server and SharePoint
  • Assist Project Managers in the administration and maintenance of project documents, including updating project schedules and revising project schedules
  • Maintain all PMO guidelines, processes, procedures, and document templates and
  • Organize project documents for PMO project management quality assurance reviews
  • Assists Project Managers with administration, maintenance, and possibly small scale management duties of a project
  • Support of SPP member committees and working groups when necessary
  • Understand and comply with SPP Policies and Procedures

Requirements: Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in field of business or information technology or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management
  • Demonstrated understanding of project estimation and practices
  • Knowledge of project management methodology and practices
  • Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) software
  • Experience with MS-Project Server
  • Professional attitude and appearance
Preferred :
  • Project management experience or closely related discipline
Physical Demands:
  • Job requires working at a computer for long periods of time
Travel Requirement:
  • This position requires minimal travel (approximately 5%)
