Handles customers in a courteous manner. Provides services with a smile and helpful attitude. Strives to provide customer service excellence. Food merchandising specialist. Performs all customer service functions and related tasks. Operates the cash register during service. Responsible for accurate transactions and a balanced cash drawer. Slices lunch meat, prepares sandwiches, salads, tacos, home meal replacements, and pizzas to order for customers. Stocks shelves and puts away inventory. Responsible for cleaning and breakdown of equipment at end of shift. This person will work with management and co-workers to instill and foster the value of the Villanova Mission Statement and the Dining Services Mission Statement. This person will focus on our Core Values : Safety and Sanitation, Friendly Courteous Service, Quality, Meticulous Attention to Detail, and Safety. All of our associates should improve our systems and overall operation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for receiving and accurately verifying the daily bank in cash drawer.
Responsible for cash drawer reconciliation and deposit at end of shift.
Accurately accounts for cash and receipts at end of service. Returns money to manager.
Responsible for accurate and efficient operations of the cash register during shift.
Maintains register tapes and proper care of register.
Prepares sandwiches, pizza, and salads to order for customers.
Slices meat, fills home replacement orders.
Maintains and replenish all product in cold and hot holding areas.
Performs opening or closing assignments which include stocking, sweeping and mopping floors, and trash removal.
Responsible for stocking and restocking areas with food and non-food product.
Assists in ordering product as required.
Performs regular cleaning tasks during operations and at the close of the store.
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routines.
Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Basic math skills.
One-year cashier experience.
Basic knowledge of food service safety and sanitation procedures.
Must be able to communicate in both verbal and written form.
Basic reading and writing skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a group under general supervision.
Practices excellent personal hygiene habits; follows and adhere to uniform standards.
Ability to interact with people on a constant basis.
Ability to operate cash register and adding machine.
Ability to use chemicals as required, and wear personal protection equipment as called for by the specific chemical.
ServSafe certification a plus
