The Pennsylvania State University, an NCAA Division I Institution, is seeking a Nittany Lion Club (NLC) Development Assistant (Intern) for the Nittany Lion Club. Penn State is currently in an ambitious, comprehensive, seven-year fundraising campaign to raise $2 billion, which includes a $225 million initiative to support Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics and our 31 Division I varsity sports. This job will report to the NLC Associate Director for Annual Giving and the Varsity †S† Club/Sports Restricted Giving Coordinator, and will work closely with the entire Nittany Lion Club staff. This individual will have the opportunity to contribute to various operations of the Nittany Lion Club.

Responsibilities include supporting in planning, publicizing, and coordinating, as well as attending the Varsity †S† alumni events and programs. May create reports to analyze the effectiveness of events and programs and recommend improved strategies. Assist in the design, development, and production of NLC marketing and communication materials. Develop content for the NLC Website (including the Varsity S page) and social media sites; maintain these sites on a regular basis.

Assist the NLC with annual fund renewals, as well as identify, assess, and steward alumni and donors. Market and coordinate the Student Nittany Lion Club. Participate in the strategic planning for new initiatives and programs designed to enhance the alumni relations and stewardship activities of the NLC. Work with volunteers, committees, boards, and University staff as assigned.

Coordinate other NLC projects as assigned. The successful candidate must have excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, time management, and presentation skills. Computer competencies needed are: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web 2.0 technologies. This job is a 10-12 month appointment at 30 hours per week and requires a Bachelor†s degree (Master†s degree preferred).
