Graphics Program Manager
The Open Source Technology Center within the Software and Services Group is looking for a Senior Software Program Manager to lead SW planning and execution for Linux visualization technologies. In this position, you will be responsible for cross-organizational coordination of graphics and media including driver and codec development, UI and graphics pipeline optimization, and UI toolkits across multiple Linux-based operating systems and across both Intel Atom processor and Intel Core processor based platforms. The candidate is expected to lead the SW program team and drive the overall integrated SW/HW platform roadmap and schedules, identify and resolve issues, apply risk management as necessary, and ultimately deliver production quality software. Ability to apply judgment in order to define consistent POR, resolve issues. and define a lowest-risk path forward is critical. The candidate will also represent the overall SW program in the PXT (Platform Execution Team) and to upper management on an as-needed basis.
Job Description: Develops processes and methodologies to ensure success of a complex project, including but not limited to product and release planning, identification of milestones & project goals, creation of schedules, and tracking of all items to ensure successful project delivery. Manages the project deliverables and project milestones (not the people). Drives creation and execution of the program Plan of Record, including Scope, Requirements Management, Success Criteria, Schedule, Resources, and Quality. Responsible for stakeholder management, including coordination of departmental or cross-functional/cross-organizational teams as well as communication within the organization, outward to other internal groups and external customers. Acts as a single program voice. Strong understanding of customers and customer environment. Thorough understanding of the software legal compliance process, how to apply it and ensure that legal risks to Intel are mitigated. Defines and manages the project plan, driving closure on issues and gaps as well as maintains focus on continuous improvement.
B.S or M.S in Computer Science or related field with 12+ years of industry experience in software product development role including all aspects of the product lifecycle including definition, architecture, design, and development.
Demonstrated record of technical and managerial leadership including producing well-documented implementation plans and directing technical teams
5 years of hands-on Program Management experience covering all aspects of product health - planning, execution, quality, risk management, and reporting.
4 years of software R&D management experience, with Linux or UNIX projects
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to influence cross-group technical stakeholders
Experience working with Open Source Software community. Including success with getting code accepted in upstream open source projects.
Deep experience in at least one of the following areas:
1. Linux kernel device drivers, especially graphics, video, and display
2. Linux user-space 3D driver development, for example Mesa
3. Linux user-space media development, for example gstreamer and/or the Android media stack
Highly desirable skills:
5 years of hands-on C/C++ experience
Embedded Linux development, debug & test
Linux streaming media (both audio & video)
Linux Display & Graphics driver development
OpenGL, EGL, GLES2
