MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a technical and administrative supervisor over subordinate workers in accomplishing trades and labor work to accomplish the repositioning and moving of various types of aircraft located in rework hangars and other various airframes and off load/load flight safety equipment (-21), store and deliver LOX/GOX at this installation on days and swings.
Regularly plans work in accordance with guidance set by higher level supervisors.
Assign work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps.
Manages the aircraft maintenance production effort and is accountable for optimum utilization of resources in support and attainment of organizational and mission goals.
THE HOURLY RATE FOR THIS POSITION IS: $ 27.11 - $31.62.

At least 26 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower grade (WG-08) or equivalent. Specialized experience must include
(1)Accomplish the repositioning and moving of various types of PDM aircraft in rework hangers and other various airframes and offload/load flight safety equipment, store and deliver at the installation; (2)Operates specialized heavy-duty tow tractors where maneuverability is restricted and accuracy is critical. Inventories Life Support equipment (-21) upon arrival and departure of PDM aircraft. Stores and transports gaseous and liquid oxygen for servicing PDM aircraft; (3)Operates diesel/gas/electric powered for lift trucks capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000 pounds. Works with Hazardous Materials and /or generates hazardous waste.

Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised and personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/Equal Employment Treatment.

Knowledge of production acceptance certification (PAC) program.
Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and/or test equipment common to trades supervised.

Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Physical effort is light to moderate.
Exerts additional effort in operating the tractor and manipulating equipment controls compensate for difficult terrain.
Subject to prolonged standing, walking, climbing or uneven surfaces rough or slippery surfaces.
Work requires reaching, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs. Associated duties require stooping bending, and climbing.
Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 44 pounds and occasionally moves heavier object with assistance.
Motor vehicles operators at this level require use of hands, legs, feet, hands/arms and eyes.
Operators reach, bend, turn, or move hands, arms, feet, and legs with loading/off-loading flight equipment.
Moderate physical efforts may be required in making couplings between the vehicle and towed equipment because safety chains, tow bars, and pental hooks must be lifted and properly secured.
Working primarily outside and operates vehicles in natural extremes of hot and cold weather conditions and high noise levels (85 decibels).
May be exposed to JP-8 jet fuel, chemical dust and sprays, dust, dirt, grease, and/or fumes and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents when loading and unloading equipment.
Follows prescribed safety practices and uses safety equipment to avoid injury and possible hazards in the work are.
Works on steep slopes and in rough terrain, and may be subject to injury from falls or overturned tractors and equipment.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTORS:
1. Establish and promotes a continuing security program and is constantly alert for any irregular security practices, taking immediate corrective action as needed.
2. Gives technical and management support to all emergency work order requirements, such as compression of production schedules, priority aircraft and dispatching maintenance team members in support of the BWP.
3. May be required, at the convenience of the government, to perform temporary duty to contractor facilities and other Air Force installations for special projects, conferences or training by military or commercial air transportations and to utilize government furnished quarters and messes when available.
4. May be required to travel IAW JTR.
5. Must be qualified and capable of supervising all skills while on TDY.
6. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle.
An appropriate valid drivers license may be required for the position.
