SUMMARY Under limited supervision Designs develops andor recommends integrated security system solutions that will ensure proprietaryconfidential data and systems are protected Provides technical engineering services for the support of integrated security systems and solutions Participates with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs Tests security products and systems to detect security weaknesses Researches recommends and implements security systems procedures Assists less experienced analysts with complex security issues Efficiently navigates through industry (PCI PADSS) and Fiserv security initiatives Essential Responsibilities Creates designs and develops solutions and recommendations to address a wide range of regulatory and duediligence security issues in the areas of applications operating systems (AIX and Windows) hardware (IBM RISC and Intelbased servers and workstations) networking and thirdparty applications including DB2 and SQL server Evaluates and tests security patches and updates for operating systems and application development programs Maintains knowledge of security regulations as they apply to financial institutions Maintains knowledge of encryption and authentication technologies and their application to security issues Develops and updates internal development documentation to reflect the current status of security issues and solutions as implemented in our user environment Defines and implements best practices guidelines for addressing security issues Interfaces with software engineers to review security design Works effectively to a project plan and directs activities to meet plan objectives Communication and Interface Effectively communicates design approaches and security concepts in meetings in written form and in oneonone conversations with peers supervisor and others Confers with Development staff and appropriate Company personnel to understand focus of analysis definition and development phases Interacts with Customer Support and customers as needed to resolve security issues Communicates progress and conceptual ideas orally and in writing Develops and generates formal and informal reports Creates product specifications plans schedules memos and written correspondence Documents work so that sequences and structures can be readily understood SUPERVISION Proactively tracks security issues in the financial institution industry and for the hardware operating systems and thirdparty software employed in the XP2 system with minimal supervision Documents issues and proposed solutions and reviews with technical management Problem Solving and Judgment Works on assignments that are generally highly complex in nature Anticipates typical problems within area of expertise and recommends or implements proactive and corrective actions REQUIREMENTS Typically has bachelor39s degree and at least four years experience of directly applicable experience May have master39s degree and approximately three years experience in this area Or may be nondegreed with at least six years directly applicable experience WebEcommerce Security designimplementation experience LDAP andor Active directory design and implementation experience Proven experience delivering realworld integrated security solutions Ability to architect solutions that take into account both business and technical objectives Experience with design and implementation of security standards policies and procedures Ability to understand and manage the balance between absolute security and system performance Balances functionality and performance needs with prudent security measures Experience with the following Applications Enterprise Security Components Identity Management design and implementation SingleSign On Firewall architecture and design Web server security Web application security Intrusion Detection and Prevention systems for network and host systems Understanding of TCPIP networking and relevant security issues Familiarity with related third party software products (firewalls intrusion detection systems filtering routers VPNs security scanners) Experience with Unix and Windows operating systems with focus on secure implementation operation and maintenance Has detailed knowledge within areas of responsibility and assignments and applies knowledge using strong conceptualization and abstract reasoning skills at a high level of problem identification and solution Plans and organizes work Is action and resultsoriented achieving goals as committed Physical requirements Receives and transmits effective communications generally through spoken or written formats Works with computers and related electronic equipment With or without vision correction sees information on computer screens sufficiently well to understand create review and modify work Sits for long periods of time Uses keyboard
