The I.C.E. (Instrument, Controls and Electrical) Technician is responsible for the technical activity in all areas of instrumentation controls & electrical, to support optimal power plant efficiency, reliability and availability. Plans, develops, and manages PM program for all systems within AOR. Plans outages and projects for all systems within AOR. Coordinates and supervises all activities within AOR. Responsible for all safety and environmental process activities as required.
Manage spare part inventory, Budget performance, PM program, and documentation updates within AOR Diagnose and repair power plant systems and components with the use of electronic control systems and standard instrument control technologies Maintain technical skills required to troubleshoot, repair, and re-design system control functions and instrumentation as required Support DCS and computerized systems, maintain skills required to modify and develop logic changes as necessary Complete all PM, breakdown, and project work orders as required Plan and coordinate outage activities as required, supervise and coordinate contractor activities as necessary Supervise and provide training where applicable for employees who are qualifying on the site equipment and systems within the I.C.E. AOR Plan, coordinate, and supervise all projects as required to maintain plant reliability Responds to emergency calls after hours when necessary

External Qualifications:
A formal training program and/or recognized apprenticeship are highly desirable or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills Computer skills: MS Office-Word and Excel or similar software. DataStream a plus Experience as an instrument controls and electrical technician in a power plant environment Knowledge of Ovation control systems or similar equipment Knowledge of electrical control and electronic theory, operations of power plant systems and equipment, and appropriate safety procedures Ability to read, follow and understand SAMA logic and electrical drawings
While performing the duties of this job talking and hearing skills are regularly required. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, used hands, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
