General Statement of Duties:
Full-time, tenure track position in the Business Administration Department. Individual selected will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Introduction to Financial Reporting, Introduction to Managerial Accounting and other upper level accounting courses. A doctorate or ABD in an accounting related program required and CPA designation preferred for the tenure track position
Supervision Received: Department Chair of Business Administration
1.Teaching work load (24 semester hours of credit of instruction per school year) and preparation for classroom instruction.
2. Undergraduate courses in Introduction to Financial Reporting and Introduction to Managerial Accounting as well as upper level accounting classes (required for students pursuing the accounting concentration) and elective. Individual selected will be invited to teach in the MBA Program.
3.Provide student assistance including academic advising
4.Participate in curriculum review and development
5.Continuing scholarship and professional activities which may include contribution to the content of the discipline, participation in or contribution to professional organizations and societies, public service and contributions to the professional growth and development of the university community.
6.Attendance at university functions, including commencement, convocation, faculty committee and departmental meetings
7.Participate on university committees as assigned
8.Opportunities to teach summer, winter term, online and undergraduate and graduate evening courses.
1.Doctorate in Accounting or related field required, will consider ABD . CPA designation is preferred.
2.College teaching experience required.
3.Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Introduction to Financial Reporting and Introduction to Managerial Accounting as well upper level undergraduate accounting and graduate courses is required
4.Ability to integrate appropriate technology and software in teaching
5.Commitment to excellence in teaching, demonstrated teaching experience appropriate to the level of appointment, and evidence of scholarly/creative activity
6.Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body
7.Ability to perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
