Summary: Provide leadership, direction, development, and implementation of the Women's and Family Service Line (WFSL) including OB, GYN, pediatrics, and neonate for Poudre Valley Health System. Develop and direct programs to increase the integration of PVHS providers and independent providers. Effectively navigate and lead through a matrix organization. Assume accountability for the overall planning, marketing, financial performance, operational performance, coordination, and delivery of WFSL services.
Requirements: Master's degree in Nursing, Business, or healthcare-related field required. Minimum nursing degree of BSN required. MSN preferred. Minimum 10 years health care experience. Minimum 5 years leadership/supervisory healthcare experience. Unrestricted RN license from the State of Colorado Board of Nursing or compact privileges under the multi-state Nurse Licensure Compact agreement. National certification in leadership, management, or clinical specialty preferred.
Essential Duties: Identify all Women's and Family Service Line (WFSL) activities for PVHS including OB, GYN, pediatrics, and neonate. Create an integrated program across the healthcare continuum. Work collaboratively with all relevant physicians and staff to gain support for the WFSL vision and to cooperatively develop goals and objectives. Meet with key local and regional care partners to lead program development efforts. Work to ensure high quality clinical performance. Utilize excellent interpersonal and communication skills to break down barriers. Collaborate and provide integrated, high quality Women's and Family services. Utilize relevant hospital, market, and other data to identify opportunities for new program development as well as ongoing growth of existing services. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in technology and innovations in care delivery that have potential application within the service line. Monitor trends in reimbursement to ensure that all appropriate charges are captured, billed, and reimbursed. Work with Finance staff to complete financial analyses of current and potential new programs and services. Work with Marketing staff to promote services. Support the Foundation's WFSL development activities. Develop the operating, capital, staffing, and contingency budget requests for provider-based services, with input for relevant clinic budgets. Manage the budgets including analysis of variances. Work with all regional WFSL stakeholders to ensure that systems are in place to monitor patient access and flow across the WFSL continuum. Maintain regular communication with all the key internal and external providers to enhance support processes, breakdown barriers, and ensure optimal patient outcomes and care. Establish key metrics to monitor outcomes and processes of care. Work with respective Medical Directors of the WFSL to identify and standardize evidence-based protocols. Monitor the WFSL literature and maintain professional relationships to identify best practices in WFSL care. Ensure that all appropriate standards are met to achieve the appropriate accreditations, certifications, and recognition of a high-performing WFSL. Identify the needs for education, training, programs, and competencies for the various service areas, in collaboration with Managers. Communicate to staff, departments, and the public in a manner that is service-oriented and courteous. Participate as a team member to foster collaborative decision-making among committees, teams, or work groups of diverse composition to improve or create a culture that enhances performance and job satisfaction. Supervise and coordinate personnel activities including hiring personnel, handling employee complaints, grievances and discipline, counseling, documentation, and conducting performance evaluations. Provide ongoing performance feedback and coaching. Develop, approve, review, revise and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. Participate in the development and review of system-wide policies. Demonstrate knowledge of HR policies and practices, and apply consistently. Retain staff who are compatible with the mission, vision, and values of the Poudre Valley Health System. Provide excellent customer service through prompt and thoughtful assistance to patients and families utilizing the principles of patient and family-centered care. Participate in continuous process improvement when appropriate. Create efficiencies utilizing the LEAN process. Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
