The Assistant Director of Campus Recreation ? Fitness and Wellness is a professional role within the Division of Student Affairs and reports to the Director of Campus Recreation. The Assistant Director is expected to contribute to overall success of the Department of Campus Recreation and the Division of Student Affairs in support of the overall mission of the University.
The Assistant Director of Campus Recreation ? Fitness and Wellness will be responsible for the overall operation of the Fitness Center, provide leadership and direction to the UMW Wellness program, and manage the Campus Recreation group fitness program. This role requires the Assistant Director to be on-site for programming during some evening and weekend hours as well to be on-call to solve program-related issues during non-traditional business hours.
--Master's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Physical Education or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
--Progressive experience in the administration of a campus recreation program.
--Demonstrated experience with campus recreation facility operations.
--Experience supervising and leading group fitness programs
--Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
--Extensive, progressive experience in the administration of a campus recreation program.
-- Extensive experience with campus recreation facility operations.
--NIRSA RCRSP credentials.
--Personal trainer certification (e.g. ACSM, ACE).
--BOC Certified Athletic Trainer.
--Current First Aid, CPR, and AED instructor certification.
--Experience with Banner operating system.
