Cargill Trade & Structured Finance (TSF) works with Cargill's commodity business units to provide financial solutions to their suppliers and customers. Our expertise in global financial markets aids in mitigating the documentary, cross-border and credit risks associated with structured trade finance. The Trade and Structured Finance Group is seeking a Credit Analyst to join there team.
The purpose of this position is to perform and enhance the analysis and reporting capabilities of the Credit Management function for Trade and Structured Finance (TSF). This position requires that you are fluent in Spanish and have proven knowledge and experience in credit analysis. It also requires learning/understanding/knowledge of the TSF Business and its trading structures. You will interact with members of the risk management team, traders, IT, and Admin and reports to TSF Risk Manager.
50 % - Perform and maintain credit analysis of counterparties. Perform industry analysis as needed. Deal/transaction reviews and understanding of trading structures, underwriting assumptions and business risks.
20 % - Actively participate and/or prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly credit and risk reports for use by Risk and TSF Management
20 % - Understand current credit and risk assessment tools, risk measurement and rating methodologies, including their underlying assumptions and potential weaknesses. Challenge assumptions used in the application of the credit and risk methodologies based on understanding of the TSF Business.
10 % - Assist on ad hoc projects defined by Risk Management
Fluent written and verbal Spanish skills
Minimum of 4 years of financial credit analysis and business work experience.
Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to lead the process, work independently, with little oversight and handle multiple demands.
Ability to ask relevant, informed and intelligent questions about transactions, structures, relationships and risks.
Negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Maintain and nurture relationships with peers, traders and managers while retaining the ability to challenge them.
Demonstrate strong customer focus and desire to improve processes and find solutions to meet customer needs.
Strong computer skills, proficiency with Excel, familiarity with accounting and position keeping systems.
Ability to occasionally travel internationally
Middle market lending experience
Portuguese a plus
Post graduate degree in finance or relevant professional qualification
Proficiency with computer tools, database navigation and queries.
